When to change it
Signs the part is done
A battery is a consumable – every one of them wears out. A keyboard usually goes because of a spill, dust, or years of typing. Neither is worth living with, and neither is expensive to fix.
If your battery looks swollen, stop using it
- Trackpad lifting up, or the laptop rocking when it used to sit flat
- Casing or keyboard bulging in the middle
- Do not charge it and do not press on it. Bring it in and we will take it out safely.
- Battery drops from full to flat in under an hour
- Laptop dies the moment you unplug the charger
- Windows says "plugged in, not charging", or stops seeing the battery
- Battery gets unusually hot while charging
- Keys not responding, or the same letter typing twice
- Sticky keys after a drink spill
- Keyboard backlight no longer lights up
- Keys work on an external keyboard but not the built-in one

How much is a laptop battery replacement?
An external, removable battery starts from RM80. A built-in battery, where the laptop has to be opened to reach it, starts from RM250. The exact price depends on your model.
How much is a laptop keyboard replacement?
An OEM built-in keyboard is RM250 to RM280 and an original one is RM350 to RM450. Gaming laptop keyboards are RM350 to RM550 because the backlit assemblies cost more.
How long does it take?
Usually the same day if we have the part in stock. If the part has to be ordered in for your model, we tell you how long when we quote you.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. The warranty follows the part fitted, and we confirm the exact period with you when we give you the price.
My battery looks swollen. Is that dangerous?
Stop using the laptop and do not charge it. A swollen battery presses on the casing, the trackpad and sometimes the screen, and it gets worse quickly. Bring it in and we will remove and replace it safely.
Some keys work, some do not. Do I need a whole new keyboard?
On most laptops the keyboard is one assembly, so individual keys cannot be replaced on their own. We check whether it is the keyboard, the ribbon cable or something on the board before quoting.
